About Us

Let me start by saying that I am by no means a professional baker nor do I represent myself as such. 

I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother and administrative professional with a love for baking and creating good food for others to enjoy. Everyday is a new experience and an opportunity to learn something new 

For as long as I can remember, the kitchen has been the heart and soul of our family. The smell and taste of fresh, homemade goodies evoke memories of family dinners, holidays and most of all, home. The spicy scent of cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning, the rich, earthy scent of pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner and the heavenly, chocolate fragrance of brownies on a warm, summer night are all tied to some very happy memories.          

My mom instilled in me at an early age a love for baking and the joy of creating and sharing those flavors and memories with my own family and friends. She is an excellent cook, with roots deep in the hills of Tennessee.  Food in the South is rich in flavor and history.    I spent many happy hours in the kitchen, watching, helping and learning the secrets of the magic she created. There is nothing as satisfying as baking up a batch of your family’s favorite cookies or delighting them with a tempting new dessert.  

For me those secrets have been lost in face of ready made, instant, drive-thru and frozen food.  With our busy schedules and fast paced lives, we aren’t taking the time to share with our families the joy of gathering in the kitchen, the special recipes passed down from grandma, a stolen bite of cookie dough when mom isn’t looking and snagging those first few cookies, fresh and warm from the oven. 

This simple website is a way to share with others the joy that was shared with me by my mom and that I have shared with my family during the past 30 plus years.  On these pages you will find tasty recipes, easy to understand and thoroughly tested, that any cook, skilled or unskilled, can make with confidence. 

This site is also a work in progress, as I test more old favorites and find new ones.  All of the recipes that you find on this site are tested repeatedly for consistent results, so that you need only follow it exactly to bake it with great results.  

As I go I will be adding more and more content to this site, so if there is a recipe you are looking for, send me an email and I will find it, test it and send it to you.  If there is a recipe that just will not come out right, email it with a description of the problem and I will test it, try to correct the problem and send it back to you. 

And like my website, I am a work in progress, always learning, growing, changing and hopefully improving.  I hope you enjoy my recipes.
